Black Point (formerly, Grandview and Grandview Terrace) is an unincorporated community in Marin County, California.[1] It is located on the Petaluma River 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east of downtown Novato,[2] 1 mile (1.6 km) west-northwest of Petaluma Point, at an elevation of 39 feet (12 m).[1] For census purposes, Black Point is aggregated with other nearby communities in the census-designated place Black Point-Green Point, California.
The first Black Point post office operated from 1865 to 1891.[2] The Grandview post office opened in 1905, changed its name to Black Point to 1944, and closed in 1952.[2]
